Weeribee Gorge is a national park located about 60 km west of Melbourne. To get there, follow the Western Freeway towards Ballarat. Take the first exit to Bacchus March. Turn left at the first road, towards Geelong. Drive up a steep hill and take right at the junction.

Follow the road into Bacchus March, cross the railroad and take left in the round about on the other side. Turn right after about 2 km before the golf course and uphill on a narrow road. Turn right after crossing the railway, and follow Ballan road for about 8 km. You will cross the railroad twice before turning of right to car park on the other side of the railway.

Cross stile and follow track through two paddocks and up to the forest. Cross another stile and enter Weeribee Gorge National Park. Follow the path until you reach the top of the cliff. From here you have an impressive view of the river down in the valley.

Use one of the many fixed anchors at the top of the cliff, or walk down the steps on the right to the foot of the cliff. This wall is called "The Amphitheatre", and offers between 50 and 60 routes from 5.4/5.5 to 5.12b/c. Some of the more difficult routes are partly bolted, but as always in Australia, bring your own gear and protection. Weeribee Gorge has some loose rocks at the top of the cliff, so use caution and maybe a helmet?
