Paderno: Conglomerate at its best

Security and respect are two important considerations while climbing

Paderno

The climbing site at Paderno has several routes between 5.8 and 5.11b. It is on the northeastern side of a river and consists of near to vertical (90 - 92 degrees) conglomerate. It makes the wall challenging and the routes have a lot of one or two finger holds.

The rating of the routes is sometimes strange. We made a try on route number 16, a 5.9 according to the book, but had severe problems! After moving to route number 1, which according to the book should have the same rating, everything was much easier. We found some of the routes on 5.10c/d easier than route number 16!

The climbing site in Paderno has nice routes and is very nicely bolted. A location we recommend for people able to lead 5.10b to 5.11b. The routes vary from 5.8 (???) to 5.11b, and due to the fantastic solid conglomerate this is an excellent place for some demanding and exhausts finger climbing.
