Scarenna: 5.2 or 5.13c - Your choice...

Good advice is hard to come by

This is a very good climbing site with a tremendous variety of routes. You have anything from "Via Normale" (5.2) to "Fire Blaster" and "Yado" (both 5.13c). The rock is solid and secure, and the routes are well bolted. This is a place for the beginner, with a good selection of routes from 5.6 to 5.11c. But also has several routes from 5.12a to 5.13c for those who are experts in "cliffhanging".

The Scarenna site is easy to reach from Milano. The train leaves from "Stazione Nord" to Asso every hour. From the station in Asso you walk directly from the railway station across a small bridge and along a small road through Scarenna. Just 100 meters after you leave Scarenna you see the climbing site on your right. It takes about 15 min. to walk from Asso.

The wall faces south and you have sun almost all day long. The cliff is close to an old road with little traffic, and just a stone's throw from a small stream. The possibility to top rope a number of the routes, and the small trees offering shadow at the foot of the cliff, made this climbing site a very pleasant experience.
