| The Vaccarese climbing site is located above Ballabio,
towards Piani Resinelli. It is on an altitude of about 1100 meters, and faces south. With
most of the routes from 5.7 to 5.10d is this a perfect site for the average climber. The
site consists of more than 90 well bolted routes. To reach
Vaccarese you go by train to Lecco. There is a bus going from the station to Ballabio.
Follow the road up towards Piani Resinelli a couple of hundred meters to a small bar
called "Trattoria Alleluia". Turn right into a small street and continue up a
path marked with "N62". Following the path you arrive at a farm called "La
Piazza". Here you will find a "Y" split on the path. Follow the one to the
left marked by "N62". If you turn right along "N64", you will arrive
at Ditto Dones and Zucco di Teral. Shortly after you arrive at
another farm. Follow the path through the farm and straight up towards the cliff of the
climbing site. This is about 60-min. walk in total (45 min. from "Trattoria
Alleluia"). |
