Rebekka's Baptism

Baptism in Kragerø Methodist Church 11.10.98

A small baptism celebration was held on Saturday because of Rebekka's Great Grandparents 50-year wedding anniversary that was planned for Sunday evening. The baptism rite took place during the service Sunday morning.

Rebekka was wearing a new baptism dress made by Unni. Grandfather Johannes, who is a "retired" Methodist priest, was asked to perform the baptism. The Sunday prior to the 11th, he had conducted the baptism of his other grandchild, Cousin Jon Håkon, in Molde. He accepted the proposal with delight.

Rebekka with the Vestøl and Olsen families		 A lot of relatives attended the service, and the church was nearly full. Grandfather held a nice little speech to Rebekka's honor just after the baptism. Rebekka got a one-year subscription of "Hjemmets Dåpsring" (The Home's Baptism Circle) as a gift from the congregation.

After church everything became a little bit hectic as all the Vestøl's were leaving for Langesund to Essa and Harald's 50-year wedding anniversary.
