Felix picked us up early this Saturday morning. All four of us
then drove up past Lecco, and up towards Grigna. Halfway up the road was closed, but we
found a small and very steep road that brought us a little bit higher. We started to walk
at 10:30, from an altitude of 1150 m. The first part was on a dirt road, but after half an
our the road ended and we continued along a well used path.
We decided to approach Grigna by a valley away from the common
route. By doing this we were able to avoid the crowded main route, and enjoy the trip away
from the others. Clear blue sky and hardly any wind made our ascent very pleasant. At a
distance we could observe the Italians following the main route. Our trail was unused and
the utter stillness was refreshing for tired minds used to the busy city of Milano.

Rebekka really enjoyed the trip, but could not find
any reason for all those breaks. Why have breaks when she does not want to eat?
We reached the top of Grigna (2410 m) at 15:30. Some clouds had arrived,
but the view was terrific, and well worth the laborious ascent. With about + 6 degrees and
some wind, lunch was a cold pleasure, but grilled chicken, rice and salad tasted well and
gave new strength. The descent took 2 hours, and we reached the car at 18:30. A enjoyable
excursion that nourishes the interest for more hikes similar to this one.
